FireWhat, Inc. owns and operates mobile labs which are trailers equipped with specialized equipment for providing office-like capabilities in remote field settings in support of emergency incident response. Clerical Mobile Labs are trailers equipped with computers and printing equipment to print/collate/bind documents and print/plot large-format maps. GIS Mobile Labs are trailers equipped with GIS workstations and similar printing/plotting capability.
Under general supervision, will perform a variety of duties related to the transportation of trailers and equipment to a specified address or fire incident.
The Transporter, must be available on very short notice, drive to remote areas towing trailers, generators and other various equipment to locations within and outside of the county in a variety of weather conditions and roads.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (not in any hierarchical order)
Drive your personal vehicle to transport trailers, generators and other various equipment.
Available to respond to emergency transports after hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Develop and maintain an efficient routing system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Towing experience is required
Must have valid Class C Drivers License, Class A would be preferred
Acceptable driving record.
Must be able to provide proof of current vehicle insurance.
Skill in communicating effectively with others both orally and in writing.
The ability to lift and carry items up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
Pays attention to details and observes safety precautions.
Reliable with strong work ethic.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Be able to tackle other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in all types of environment, weather and road conditions, including off highway and other remote locations. There is frequent need to sit, hear, use the hands and occasionally lift objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
18 years of age, High School diploma or GED. Possession of a valid Class C Drivers License issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. A print out of your driving record and valid insurance, must accompany your application.
