GIS Mapping

The Wildland Fire Hot Pin (HP)© is a tool designed by FireWhat, Inc. to be used in conjunction with spatial information from When a HP is dropped on a map, information from the map self-populates the HP GeoDatabase. A HP can be dropped two different ways. The first way to engage a HP is to be in the field and use the Esri Collector App on a mobile device. The HP can be dropped from any location and your geographic information will be preserved in the GeoDatabase. HP information can be monitored using the FireWhat Resource and Asset Tracking system (RATs). Specific widgets can be added for specific resource and asset tracking needs.

FireWhat launched its adaptation of the ArcGIS Online mapping platform in the Summer of 2013. The mapping platform provides instant access to secure organizational mapping. The map-enriched polygons of ANY natural disaster create a perimeter to determine the specific demographic of the affected population (see bar chart above) along with the percentage of household ownership (see pie chart). The HP is designed to absorb ANY spatial information that is available on the base map associated with your vector data. Imagine implementing this tool in your industry!
